The Thai Paper Mill, Kanchanaburi, is located in the Mueang District of Kanchanaburi Province; you could say it's right in the city itself. It is located near the Kanchanaburi Provincial Police Station and the Kanchanaburi TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) office. It is considered a relatively new tourist attraction open to visitors, as it was previously closed to the public.

Inside the premises, there is an old building that is almost 90 years old. If you walk inside, you will see that there is still very old machinery. Some buildings show signs of their age, with tree roots growing and clinging to the large concrete structures.

History and Background of the Thai Paper Mill, Kanchanaburi.

This factory's architecture dates from the World War II historical period (the factory began operations in 1938, and Thailand entered World War II in 1941). It is a building that was constructed in a modern style by engineers and technicians from Germany.

Historically, the construction of this place is considered highly significant because it was the first factory to produce banknotes using bamboo pulp, operating under the control of the Ministry of Defence. This factory is also regarded as a "symbol of the societal change from agriculture to industry" for the people of Kanchanaburi. The paper mill transformed the livelihoods of the people at that time, shifting them from agriculture, farming, and trading to becoming young factory workers working in shifts.
