Mon Bridge (Uttamanuson Bridge), Sangkhla Buri District, Kanchanaburi
Mon Bridge (Uttamanuson Bridge) - A center of Mon culture, Sangkhla Buri, Kanchanaburi Province
When speaking of Sangkhla Buri District in Kanchanaburi Province, it's impossible for a Kanchanaburi local like me not to think of this "Mon Bridge". This is because it is the cultural center for the Mon people and the local residents of this district.

The Mon Bridge, also called the "Uttamanuson Bridge", was built with the efforts of the Mon people and the local community to cross the Song Kalia River. It was initiated by Luang Phor Uttama, the abbot of Wat Wang Wiwekaram. This wooden bridge is 850 meters long and is considered the longest wooden bridge in Thailand.

This bridge is also like a cultural hub for both Thai and Mon people. We can observe the local culture of the people in the area, whether it's the Mon practice of "Teun Khong" (carrying things on the head), their unique attire, or the application of Thanaka powder.
